Becky Cooper
- Position :Mental Health Occupational Therapist
Becky is a Mental Health Occupational Therapist with over 20 years’ experience across the NHS and private sector. Her practice is grounded in a holistic, person-centred approach, working collaboratively with individuals and their families to understand their needs and support meaningful, sustainable change in daily life.
She has extensive expertise in Dementia, Young Onset Dementia, and Older People’s Mental Health, providing compassionate support during what can be an overwhelming and emotional journey for clients and their loved ones. Her work includes carrying out standardised cognitive and functional assessments, as well as observing everyday activities in the home and community to identify strengths, challenges, and the support required.
In recent years, her career has focused on neurodiversity, including ADHD and Autism. Her practice is underpinned by ongoing research and an evidence-based approach to ensure high standards of assessment, understanding, and intervention for children, teenagers, and adults. She combines psychological insight with practical rehabilitation to promote confidence, restore function, and enhance independence. This may involve supporting emotional regulation, sensory processing, daily living skills, social interaction, self-advocacy, and accessing reasonable adjustments at home, work, or university. Lived experience within her own family further strengthens her empathetic and informed approach.
Outside her clinical role, she helps facilitate a Young Onset Dementia Support Group. In her spare time, she enjoys creative activities such as jewellery making and painting, and treasures time with her family – especially during trips to Devon and days spent by the sea.
