His clinical interests include alcohol and drug addiction, sex and pornography addiction, compulsive sexual behaviour, chemsex, trauma and attachment difficulties, with particular expertise in the intersection between addicti on and neurodiversity. Talid has undertaken specialist training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and has experience working collaboratively with prescribing psychiatrists within ketamine-assisted treatment pathways. His role focuses on the psychotherapeutic elements of treatment, including preparation, therapeutic support and post-treatment integration, helping patients explore and integrate psychological material that may emerge through the treatment process.
Alongside his therapeutic work, Talid has completed training in ADOS-2 and ADI-R for autism assessment and DIVA-5 for ADHD assessment. He contributes to autism and ADHD assessments within psychiatrist-led multidisciplinary pathways, bringing his psychotherapeutic and neuro-affirming perspective to the wider assessment process.
Talid’s therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, relational, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming. He understands addictive and compulsive behaviours within the wider context of an individual’s emotional, developmental and relational experiences, rather than focusing solely on symptoms. His work combines psychological depth with practical therapeutic strategies to support recovery, emotional regulation, greater self-understanding and meaningful, sustainable change.
